IN B.E.2413 , LUANG-POR-TOR OF RA-KANG TEMPLE WAS 84 YEARS-OLD . HE WAS TOO OLD TO CONTINUE SERVING IN THE CAPACITY OF THE CHIEF ABBOT . THUS , HE TURNED OVER HIS JOB TO HIS DEPUTY PHRA-PI-RUN WHO SUCCEEDED LUANG-POR-TOR TO BECOME CHIEF ABBOT OF RA-KANG TEMPLE . PHRA-PI-RUN THEN BUILT BUDDHIST AMULETS THAT MADE FROM PALM LEAVES POWDERS BY INVITING LUANG-POR-TOR WHO WAS HIS TEACHER , TO JOIN IN THE MAKING OF THESE BUDHIST AMULETS . THESE BUDHIST AMULETS WERE THEN KEPT INSIDE THE BIG PAGODA AT RA-KANG TEMPLE FOR THE PURPOSE OF FOLLOWING THE PATH OF THE BUDDHA .-------- THE MOLDS OF PHRA-PI-RUN'S BUDDHIST AMULETS WERE MADE BY MASTER CRAFTSMEN OF THE ROYAL PALACE SO THAT THE BUDDHIST AMULETS WERE SPLENDIDLY BUILT . AS PART OF MATERIALS USED IN MAKING PHRA-PI-RUN , LUANG-POR-TOR GAVE HIM 5 TYPES OF HIS SACRED POWDERS FOR THE BLENDING . APART FROM THIS , LUANG-POR-TOR ALSO PARTICIPATED IN THE INCANTATION CEREMONY WITH PHRA-PI-RUN . THE BUDDHIST AMULETS WERE THEN NAMED AFTER LUANG-POR-TOR AND PHRA-PI-RUN AS " 2 PATRIARCHS BUDDHIST AMULETS " . FOR THESE REASONS , THEIR POPULARITY IS CONTINUALLY ON THE RISE AMONG WELL-TO-DO COLLECTORS . BUT SOME OF THESE COLLECTORS MIGHT NOT BE IN THE POSITION OF SPEND A VERY LARGE SUM OF MONEY ON PHRA-SOMDEJ OF RA-KANG TEMPLE.
